MGP241

MGP241 multi-gas probe for measuring carbon dioxide and humidity

Product Description

The new MGP241 is the most intelligent solution for CO2 measurement in processes. From carbon capture to general industrial use, it is designed to withstand and perform in the harshest environments.

Outstanding reliability right in the process

  • Exceptionally compact, lightweight and optimized for operation.
  • Requires minimal maintenance and calibration.
  • Proven in practice and IP65 technology.
  • Based on over 85 years of measurement expertise.

Plug-and-play operation and high connectivity
Its compact size and plug-and-play design make installation much easier.
It can be integrated into your existing operating systems with minimal effort. Both digital Modbus® and analog SCADA communications are supported. The MGP241 is fully compatible with the Indigo family of transmitters for remote data connections and local graphical displays.

Low total cost of ownership, high return on investment
The MGP241 requires only a fraction of the expected investment compared to most traditional metering solutions in the industry. This meter offers high performance at an extremely low purchase price and low total cost of ownership. When operated directly in the gas stream, the instrument has a service life of over ten years.

What makes the MGP241 so unique?

2-in-1 measuring probe
The MGP241 measures carbon dioxide (CO2) and humidity (H2O vapor) under demanding conditions. It measures CO2 and humidity in units of vol.% or ppm or alternatively the dew point (Td) and the frost point (Tf).
In contrast to conventional non-dispersive infrared measuring technology (NDIR), the patented CARBOCAP® infrared technology enables the simultaneous detection of several gases.
This allows sensor deviations, sensor aging and any cross-sensitivities between the measured gases to be compensated. No calibration gases are required for routine operation. However, it is recommended to perform a functional test and deviation check every 12 months.

Continuous process measurement
The MGP241 measures gases directly in the process without the need for drying or other sample treatment. This simplifies installation and minimizes space requirements compared to conventional gas analyzers.
The fast measurement cycle takes only seconds and provides direct real-time measurements for process control and monitoring. CO2 readings can be displayed on either a wet or dry basis.
Integrated temperature and pressure compensation algorithms as well as CARBOCAP infrared technology ensure that all measurements are extremely stable and reliable under a wide range of process conditions and in different environments.

Powerful connectivity
The MGP241 offers both digital and analog connectivity. It uses the Modbus RTU protocol for digital connectivity and 4...20 mA analog outputs for CO2 and H2O vapor concentrations, and a 4...20 mA analog input for an external pressure or temperature signal used for compensation.
The MGP241 easily connects to a range of Vaisala Indigo transmitters, from the world-class Indigo500 to the Indigo300 and the award-winning Indigo80 portable indicator.
The MGP241 probe can also be connected to the Vaisala Indigo software via a USB cable for easy access to configuration, diagnostics, calibration and adjustment. Vaisala Insight can be connected.
